Today I chose to remember 9/11 by just doing some personal introspection and not making a giant spectacle of it.
No one is going to forget that day, whether there are facebook postings every three minutes, media blastings all over, or anything else. Thats my personal opinion.
No, I did not know anyone personally who passed in that horrible event, but as an American and caring person, do not assume it didn’t affect me.
I personally think the more we continue to live in fear and get offended by every little thing, the more we are showing that we, as a people and a country, are still cowed. A friend of mine on Facebook is currently upset , along with many others, that near the Towers site a museum has the audacity to put up posters and sings for one of its exhibits and that exhibit is called “Bodies.” I think things like that are a bit silly. Life, like it or not, moves on. Taking a museum piece that has traveled for years as a personal insult is only making yourself miserable.
That being said, I will never forget. The world will never forget.
